Mohs Micrographic Surgery
Mohs micrographic surgery is the current gold standard for removal of non-melanoma skin cancers.
- It is a specialized technique where non-melanoma skin cancers are removed in a stepwise and targeted manner with visualization of the entire margin. It is removed with a narrower margin than wide local excision.
- Although a time-consuming process, this results in a lower chance of recurrence and potentially a smaller wound.
- Thereafter there will be reconstruction of the wound. Our dermatologist will discuss if this is suitable and explain the procedure.
